A month on, and I'm still enjoying Shockwave. And I haven't even started on multiplayer yet, other than a test co-op match with JonB. There's a lot of depth in there, and flashy explosions as well.
I passed the first round of General's Challenge with Granger today, for the first time ever. One day I might even learn to play him well. I just can't seem to get the hang of using planes as anything other than support units - I never build more than two airfields, three at most. Still, Granger's lineup includes some of the more interesting new units, so this habit will have to change.
The 0.95 update is due in January, assuming the provisional date is met. I hope so, because that should just about coincide with the moment I've more or less learnt the ropes, so I'll get a whole new bunch of toys to play with (including three new Generals!).

Cuantas movidas...

Hiatus
Family visit this week, so I won't be having any time to update the blog. Look for updates next week. And now, here's the same sentence regurgitated by Google's new Hindi text tool:

Shockwave
I downloaded Shockwave for Generals: Zero Hour the other day, and it's totally blown me away. It's been a fair while since a game made me gape in astonishment, and I can't even remember the last time a mod had that effect on me. I've only had time to try out the USA Laser General and the Superweapon General so far, but... wow.

How much wood would a wood-chuck chuck, if a wood-chuck would chuck wood?
Well, no updates in a week. There hasn't really been much to talk about, things are going slow slow slow. We've been hard at work all week, but so far, little to show for it, hopefully that will change over the next couple of weeks.
I've been teaching my Spanish partner's family English and French tongue-twisters, which has been crazy, to say the least. The French "Si mon tonton ton ton tonton, ton tonton tendu sera" was especially popular.
In gaming news, I've installed Zero Hour again, hoping to get in a few epic multiplayer battles with JonB, and, as usual, I'm messing around with the .ini files already. My current pasttime is combining all of the sub-Generals' units and abilities into the original side, I.E. giving vanilla USA all of the subunits and powers from Airforce, Laser and Superweapons. I'm pretty sure I've got all the USA units done now, just need the General's Powers. Once I'm done with all three sides, it'll be time to throw in some other minor changes here and there (I'd like to give the laser tanks a continuous "stream" laser, rather than a "zap" laser, and I think the Stealth Fighter needs to be balanced vs the Aurora to make it more useful) and then try to balance the new sides to a reasonable level.
Project Lightfoot has been advancing well, but it's slowing down now, as the basic theory is coalescing nicely, and now I need to start prototyping things to see how they work for real, and to start building the world. Which means improving my (pathetic) 3d modelling skills, and finding a decent platform to prototype from.
